Crurated brings blockchain-protected wine to Langosteria

Italian restaurant group Langosteria has signed a wine and spirit supply agreement with Crurated, a UK company specialising in providing sought-after bottles protected by a blockchain-powered traceability technology to guarantee authenticity of origin.

Crurated’s platform allows producer-to-customer provenance and according to Langosteria “not only guards against wine counterfeits and track the bottle's journey to uphold quality, but also shares the genuine narrative of craftsmanship with the discerning connoisseur.”

Crurated was set up in London during the COVID-19 pandemic to deliver premium wine bottles directly to the homes of collectors protected by blockchain and non-fungible token (NFT) technology, later expanding into the spirits category.

The company partners with some of the world’s most renowned producers, lining up bottling curations every week for their community of wine enthusiasts and collectors.

The latest deal will also give Crurated’s 5,000-plus membership priority access to reserve tables across the Langosteria restaurants, which are located in Milan, Paris, Paraggi and St Moritz, with new openings planned in London and Miami.

“Through our partnership with Crurated we are able to offer our clientele further unparalleled access to some of the finest and rarest wines,” said Valentina Bertini, Langosteria’s wine corporate manager.

“The assurance of provenance and authenticity, provided by Crurated’s blockchain technology, aligns perfectly with our commitment to excellence and transparency, enhancing our guests’ dining experience.

Curated’s chief executive Alfonso de Gaetano meanwhile said that the deal “marks a new chapter” for the company, showing that the platform can benefit “both producers and venues, ensuring that venues can demonstrate to their clients that every bottle, regardless of its age, comes directly from the domaine.”
