Timex India launches anti-counterfeit app for watches

Watchmaker Timex has launched a mobile app for the Indian market that can be used to authenticate its products.

The Timex India app – available from both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store for download – can be used to scan a QR code on Timex watches. If the code is genuine, purchasers get a screen and voice message indicating that the watch is genuine and not counterfeit – and so is covered under warranty.

It can also be used to provide a paperless warranty for the watch by filling in some details and scanning the purchase invoice, get product information and customer service contact information, and sign up for free watches and other competitions.
