Amazon joins card game firm Asmodee in counterfeit suit
Amazon has teamed up with Asmodee Group to file a lawsuit against two defendants accused of counterfeiting the card game company's popular Dixit product.
The suit focuses on two products – Dixit: Daydreams Expansion and Dixit: Revelations Expansion – which are add-ons to Asmodee's Dixit storytelling card game, first launched in 2008. The defendants, based in Brooklyn, New York, attempted to offer the counterfeit products on Amazon's marketplace.
The lawsuit was filed in the US District Court for the Western District of Washington and alleges that the two defendants used Asmodee's registered trademarks without authorisation to deceive customers about the authenticity and origin of the products and create a false affiliation with Asmodee.
