Brief: Aegate eyes CEE markets with Polish office

Aegate logoMedicines verification specialist Aegate has said it plans to open an office in Poland that will serve as its regional headquarters for Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).

The company said the decision - which comes ahead of the deadlines for medicine verification covered by the Falsified Medicines Directive (FMD) - means it is "already proactively investing in building infrastructure in Poland and aligning with the new regulation."

Aegate has pioneered end-to-end medicines authentication in Europe, having set up pharmacy verification and patient safety systems in countries such as Belgium and Italy, sand says it is now actively recruiting partner companies to help it develop a network serving Poland and the wider CEE region.

Earlier this month, Aegate boosted its presence in Italy with the appointment of Renato Angelini as the managing director of its local unit. Angelini has the brief of further developing the company and its services in Italy, where 90 per cent of pharmacies have already deployed its systems.
