AlpVision launches new QC device

Embedded QASwiss anti-counterfeiting technology firm AlpVision has introduced a portable quality control device that gives packaging printers and converters a simple way of detecting the presence of its Cryptoglyph invisible marking technology.

The rechargeable battery-powered system enables testing of offset plates before printing and performance of sample testing of printed matter on the printing line, said AlpVision.

Prior to this quality control was carried out using flatbed scanners, and the new device is "more convenient to operate in the environment of the printing press room," it said.

Cryptoglyph is a set of covert machine-readable security solutions which can be printed using regular ink and equipment onto documents, product packaging and other printed materials. The technology is used by the pharmaceuticals, tobacco and banking industries, amongst others, and has been deployed by companies across Europe, the USA, Brazil, Asia-Pacific and Australia.
