Dirk Rodgers sets up independent consultancy

Dirk Rodgers, a healthcare supply chain specialist and author of the popular and insightful RxTrace blog, has left his full-time role at Cardinal Health to set up an independent consultancy focusing on serialisation in the pharmaceutical sector.

Rodgers says the new role will allow him to take on new clients and help them "navigate the … intersection between the pharmaceutical supply chain, track and trace technology, standards and regulatory compliance."

"History has shown that once illegitimate drugs are able to quietly penetrate the protections of the legitimate supply chain it is very hard to find and eliminate them before patients are harmed," according to Rodgers' new website.

"Governments around the world have begun to conclude that the natural protections of supply chains are insufficient to deter increasingly sophisticated criminal attacks, and so some have imposed various forms of serialisation, track and trace, and ePedigree regulations," he adds..

Dirk has promised to continue to maintain RxTrace alongside building his new consultancy, which is called Dirk Rodgers Consulting LLC.
