Atlantic Zeiser unveils anti-counterfeiting software

Atlantic Zeiser has created a track and trace system to combat the threat of counterfeiting in the cosmetics sector.

The software logs and time stamps each manufacturing step to give a full record of ingredients and production lines used, as well as information on the shipping and final destination. A serial number is then generated for each piece of packaging to link products to manufacturing data.

In a release to accompany demonstrations of the system at FachPack Atlantic Zeiser said: “A random number generator ensures the allocation of a unique serial number or a corresponding code. This ensures full product traceability based on the identification features assigned.”

As well as targeting cosmetics manufacturers, Atlantic Zeiser is pitching the software at the pharmaceutical industry. Atlantic Zeiser thinks the tool has the potential to help companies in both sectors combat counterfeiting and parallel trade of their products.
