LAPD recovers massive haul of stolen Nike shoes

The Los Angeles Police Department has seized millions of dollars worth of stolen merchandise believed to be Nike sneakers during a raid on a warehouse in Torrance, California.

The haul – reported to be worth somewhere between $4m and $7m according to a Los Angeles Times article – came from at least nine trucks that had been stolen from a facility near the Port of Los Angeles, according to Police Captain Alfonso Lopez of the LAPD’s commercial crimes division.

The shipments were taken to the warehouse and offloaded, before being discovered by enforcement authorities armed with a search warrant. The investigation is ongoing and arrests are likely in the near future, according to the report.
