Brand protection firm Incopro starts recruitment drive

An anti-counterfeit company that includes the BBC and clothing brand Ted Baker among its clients is adding 80 staff members to its workforce in Caerphilly, Wales.

Incopro’s expansion – which it says comes on the back of rising demand for its online brand protection services – is being supported with £500,000 in funding by Welsh Government Capital Investment and Employment Aid.

The five-year-old UK-US company specialises in brand protection by tracking counterfeiters online and removing sellers of counterfeit products from the Internet using its TALISMAN platform, and is expanding in Caerphilly after outgrowing its UK base in London.

Chief executive Simon Baggs, an intellectual property protection lawyer, said Incopro is “committed to making the Internet a better place for businesses to prosper”, adding that a key element in achieving this is to cut out the sale of unlawful products and content.

The company, which says it “combines the latest technology with multi-lingual staff enabling them to track fraud, detect counterfeiters, and investigate suspect websites,” formed a partnership with investigations firm WRi Group earlier this month to establish a joint Wales-based team for intelligence gathering.
