AlpVision signs two more pharma customers

Two as-yet unidentified pharmaceutical companies have decided to make use of anti-counterfeiting technologies from AlpVision to protect their products.

The news comes shortly after the announcement by AlpVision that fellow Swiss firm Debiopharm had also signed a license for one of its digital product authentication technologies.

"Two other main pharmaceutical producers of branded medicines have signed licenses for roll-out of AlpVision's covert digital solutions for product authentication," says the firm in its latest newsletter.

"The worldwide deployment will take place in the course of 2011," it adds.

As with Debiopharm the technology to be implemented has not been disclosed. AlpVision's two main products are Cryptoglyph, a covert machine-readable security solution which can be printed using regular ink and equipment and read using a standard office scanner, and Fingerprint technology for differentiating genuine product from fakes based on digital imaging.
