Counterfeit UL marks found on handheld vacuums
Handheld vacuum cleaners bearing fake UL symbols suggesting they meet US safety standards are being sold online, says UL.
The cleaners – which are sold under the HoLIFE brand according to a search on Amazon.com – include the following models: HLHM152AWUS, HLHM036ABUS, HLHM036BWEU, HLHM036BWUS, says the standards organisation in a news alert.
“These vacuum cleaners have not been evaluated by UL to the appropriate safety standards for the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons and it is unknown if they comply with any safety requirements,” says UL, which recommends that purchasers stop using the devices.
