Seoul Customs feted for seizure of fake Premier League goods
The Premier League has presented Seoul Customs with an award after it intercepted a massive £4.6m ($6m) shipment of counterfeit kits and other merchandise.
The seizure of 400,000 items en route from China earned Seoul Customs with the Premier League’s inaugural International Enforcement Agency of the Year award. It is the largest seizure since the Premier League started its Anti-Counterfeiting Programme 11 years ago. Since its inception the programme seized more than 1.9 million items worth £22m.
The shipment seized by Seoul Customs included replica Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool kits, amongst other clubs, as well as badges, coaster mats and even e-cigarettes bearing Premier League club emblems.
