Brief: CounterFind gets investment from BSIP fund

Investment fund Blue Star Innovation Partners has added software company CounterFind, which tracks and eliminates ads selling counterfeit merchandise online, to its portfolio.

Founded by former Dallas Cowboys player Darren Woodson, two-year-old CounterFind is intended to help brands to detect and remove online ads and listings of counterfeit merchandise through the use of image recognition. Its found a likely partner in BSIP, a fund set up by Cowboys owner Jerry Jones along with his family and entrepreneur Rob Wechsler.

Wechsler will serve on CounterFind’s board of directors, and the company will operate out of BSIP’s office space located at the Cowboys headquarters in Frisco.

BSIP said its investment will provide CounterFind with “a host of resources to accelerate its growth”, including strategic guidance and access to its “network of contacts in the technology, sports, and entertainment industries.”
